8otto (otto) is a band from Osaka with a world-class groove. The band formed in `99 but the current members got together in August of `04, thus renaming the band with an “8.” Their unusual style and a groovy performance gained attention and popularity. In Nov. `04 they travelled to the U.S. for three months. After the trip, they aggressively toured the clubs in Osaka and in March `03, they went to N.Y. for a recording of their first album “we do viberation.” In April `07 they opened for “The Rapture Japan Tour,” and in May they released a mini album “Running PoP`.” They appeared in numerous summer events that year such as “Summer Sonic 07” and “Rising Sun.” In October they released a new album “Real” from a major label. This year, the internet-only tracks “AF/GH” (80KIDZ Remix) hit number 1 on the iTunes rock album chart. With a growing anticipation and performing massive amounts of gigs, they will be releasing their first single “Bomb” on July 23rd, and a full-length album in the fall. They are also scheduled for a nation-wide tour in the fall.
