Profile

Art-School was formed in 2000 and within the same year, released their first album “Sonic Dead Kids.” They started performing at venues all across Japan and their fine pop style with beautiful melody with blasting guitar became popular among the audience. Guitarist Todaka and bassist Uno joined the band in 2004. The reformed Art-School started off with an awaited gig, “Free-Live” at the O-East in Shibuya. They signed with a new label and released their popular song at their gigs “Ato 10 byo de” (in ten more seconds) in `05.
Their third album “Paradise Lost” released in Oct. 2005 was recorded in Glasgow with Tony Doogan (known for his works of MOGWAI, Belle and Sebastian, etc.) and earned great reviews. In the next album “Flora” released in `07, they worked with both Japanese and foreign producers such as Tatsuki Masuko (ROVO). The great reputation of their live performance have given them the opportunity to perform at “Countdown Japan” for five consecutive years and called for successful solo shows at popular venues such as Shibuya-AX and C.C. Lemon Hall.
