Profile

Phantom Planet started in L.A. and was known as a 5-man band with a strong surf rock influence after their release of their first album in 1998. A track from their second album released in `02, “California” became a big hit and became the theme song for the popular TV series “The O.C.” The original member and drummer Jason Schwartzman left the band in `03 to focus on his acting career and was replaced by Jeff Conrad. The band made a turn towards garage rock in `04 when they released their 3rd album. Shortly after the release, guitarist Jacques Brautbar left the band to pursue a career in photography. Once the band was settled with the current members, they signed with a new record label “Fueled By Ramen” who produces bands like “Panic at the Disco.” They had just released their 4th album in 4 years, “Raise the Dead.”
